Federal Government Plans World Class Terminals for MMIA

The Federal Government said yesterday during the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting presided over by President Goodluck Jonathan, that they are planning to build six new world class terminals in the three wings of the Murtala Muhammad International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos to further improve the quality of services provided by the aviation industry to people of the country and foreigners. The project will commence next year. We are waiting!

Story story, NA today? Another way to chop our money

Give a well funtioning/ comfortable terminal. We don't need a gigantic structure that we are unable to maintain.

Long overdue. MMA is an embarrassment to Nigerians. (the government has no shame so they wont even understand what embarrassment means). It's not as big and as beautiful and neat as the smallest airport in U.K or Italy. Lets not even go near United States of America. All they need to fix that hoax of an airport is not as much as a quarter of what they steal every month and deposit in Dubai banks,

Why not spend the money on the local communities first? Better sewage, roads, schools and hospitals. I would prefer a crappy airport and then a country of pure awesomeness than a great airport, and once you leave it's a whole other story.

Fuck the airport, and deal with the important issues that affect ALL Nigerians.

Seriously? This same govt that can't maintain one terminal now wants to build more? It is not by the size or number of terminals you have but by how well you keep them. Thieves.

MMIA really needs a complete overhaul. We need to upgrade to the likes of other Int'l Airports the world over. I just hope the money allocated for this wouldn't go down the drain as usual due to corruption.

Have you guys been to our airports recently =/

Or is that we just enjoy criticizing? The old domestic wing of Lagos has a brand new terminal that recently opened, The PH airport is being completely revamped and construction is moving at a super fast pace. The aviation minister is revamping our old airports. It is not just to criticize and criticize, not everybody that is in power is lazy.

Its a decade behind schedule at least, but knowing the Nigerian government...its probably going to take another decade for it to come to reality.

I still can't believe Lagos has only one airport. So much for being a megacity.

its only in Nigeria that airport officials search luggage by hand during check-in. very disgraceful airports.

we no even say make dem build another. they should simply improve services and renovate and train all their worker to talk to people with respect. lo ba tan!

Another abandon project on the way. Nigerian Govt are never never to be trusted.

My take on this is for the government to privatize the Airports so that private investors can take over and develop them so that they can compete international.

There is no place for government in business.

Na now they just they wake up in 2012 to realize the shambolic state of MMIA. We are waiting with bated breath

MMIA is looking a bit better than it looked last year , i passed through few weeks ago and i think the Aviation Minister is working, and would be good if they can renovate that place and give it an international standard..You wont know how horrible the place looks when leaving Nigeria, but upon return, you would definitely open your mouth and curse the governments

And at least they finally changed the airport trolley and we have to pay, its supposed to be free.. Work on that too Aviation Minister!

I hope they don't renovate half way and leave it as uaual. I dint know how horrible the airport facilities were untill I arrived Schiphol. I wept in my mind for MMIA knowing it was modeled after Schiphol.

I hope this is not another excuse to steal money
